Att. Deniz GÜNGÖR

Ms. Deniz Güngör is founder and the Managing Partner at Gungor Law Firm. She has extensive experience in business and financial law. Ms. Güngör has 25 years of experience in corporate and commercial law primarily focusing on financial law and data privacy.
The majority of Ms. Güngör’s work involves providing full corporate counseling advice. This includes; participating and managing national and international corporate transactions such as tenders, mergers and acquisitions, legal and financial due diligence processes, project finance and cross border transactions, data privacy. She has extensive experience across a broad range of financing transactions acting for borrowers, lenders and other creditors on lending, capital markets transactions and debt restructurings. She has extensive experience in Fintech projects focusing on e-platforms, electronic money and payment systems, blockchain technologies, NFTs and cyripto currency platforms.

  • She graduated from Marmara University Faculty of Law in 1997 with honours degree,
  • She holds master’s degree in financial law from Marmara University, where she graduated within top of her class.
  • She is the author of the “The Proof in Turkish Tax Law”. She also completed American Law program in Colorado, USA and also attended the regular meetings of Colorado Bar Associations International Law Committee.
  • She is the member of Istanbul Bar Association since 1998. 

Prior to starting her own law practice at Gungor Law Firm, she worked as a legal counsel for one of the well known law firms in İstanbul and later worked as an in-house legal counsel for two major multinational companies;

  • Turkcell İletişim Hizmetleri A.Ş., which is the leading communications and technology company listed on the NYSE and the BIST and,
  • Tofaş Türk Otomobil Fabrikası A.Ş., which is a joint venture of Koç Holding and Italian automotive company Fiat Auto SpA.

She managed many strategically important projects while both companies were expanding their businesses both nationally and internationally.
Ms. Güngör is also actively involved in the associations and projects with the aim of social responsibility.
